Black History Month Movie Screening
Seven years after the Watts Riots in Los Angeles, musicians from Memphis Tennessee's Stax Records came together to create what would be known as "The Black Woodstock."
Artists such as The Bar Kays, Rufus Thomas and Isaac Hayes filled the LA Colliseum with over 100,000 people in celebration of unity and joy for all, creating a powerful statement for Black America.
The film features an invocation from social activist, Rev. Jesse Jackson, the comedic stylings of Richard Pryor and a Golden Globe nominated soundtrack.
Come join us as we celebrate a monumental occurence in Black History and enjoy Louisiana Creole Gumbo!
