The Climate Matters conference is designed to improve the UM campus climate and will be taking place on Saturday, January 27, 2007. We encourage you to attend and to share this announcement with all others who may be interested in this rare opportunity.
There is no registration fee. Participants will receive free breakfast and lunch and will enjoy the accommodations of the Michigan League and UM Law School. All students are welcome.

Christian art in Japan has generally been seen as part of a history of martyrdom and religious suppression, but this approach has largely ignored the relationship of Christian icons to other religious images.
Kevin Carr teaches Japanese art at the University of Michigan.

CASD (Conversations Across Social Disciplines) announces an interdisciplinary roundtable workshop, "Citizenship and Belonging Across Social Contexts: Multidisciplinary Approaches to Theory and Practice."
Roundtable participants will discuss broad issues relating to citizenship in their various disciplines, focusing on disciplinary intersections.
They include: Barry Checkoway (Social Work and Urban Planning), Ann Lin (Political Science and Public Policy), Sherrie Kossoudji (Social Work and Economics), Ram Mahalingham (Psychology), and Nadine Naber (Anthropology, Women’s Studies, and American Culture).
This roundtable will be facilitated by Julia Paley (Social Work and Anthropology).
